The CPT Brian Faunce Memorial Fund presented its tenth annual ROTC award to graduating Penn State University senior Jacob Ahle.
Brian’s mother Judy Faunce proudly displayed her personalized Honor and Remember flag at her home in Wilmington, Delaware over Memorial Day weekend. “Don’t know if you will get this. My name is Donald Whitsitt, in 2003 I was a CID agent who worked his death. I pulled out his wallet and saw his pictures and that is the first time after being there since the beginning that it hit me. I swore I would never forget him. Every Veterans Day I buy a six pack and drink with him and salute him even though I never knew him. You can say he touched folks he didn’t even know he did. Last week Brian’s mother and sister participated in the NJ Run for the Fallen. This annual event is a organization of runners and support crew whose mission is clear and simple: To run one mile for every New Jersey service member killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Enduring Freedom and New Dawn. Each mile of sweat and pain and each flag saluted, is to pay homage to one service member’s life and their family.
Tonight’s flag ceremony at Cape May Point is cancelled due to inclement weather. Thank you as always to everyone who comes out to remember Brian with us on this anniversary. His flag will fly again on Sept 18 2013. See you next year.
With over 150 players this year, 2012 marks our most successful golf outing yet! The weather was perfect, the prizes abundant, and fun was had by all. Thank you to all our players, volunteers, friends and family who came out to remember Brian with us. We think he would be proud of all the good work we are doing in his name.
